Sis and I in our "modernized" native wear.
10:29Hello everyone. Merry christmas and happy new year from me and I hope you all have a good one. It`s been quite chilly around here but for some reason it was bright outside today so I and my sis took some lovely pictures on our way back from church. We all decided to put on our native wear which in this case is ankara. It was really cold so she decided to tie her headtie, a habit she has started for some weeks now.
I also had on a black hat to keep myself warm and try something new to church.
The top I am wearing is the ankara pelpum top I sewed and the red skirt and hat are from H&M. My sis native wear is from Nigeria and the cape was a present.
I honestly can`t wait for next year to come. Anyways bye amigos, have a lovely day.
Loves- Maggie.P

DeleteThe prints are beautiful! You did a fantastic job of making them modern. I would wear all of those right here in my boring midwestern US town!

DeleteI love your ankara peplum top. It's so cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Inez :)
DeleteGorgeous outfits, I love to know how you put your peplum top together. I just recently got a sewing machine and I'm dying to start a project or something with it and attempting a top like yours would be great if you have any words of advice :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog x
Hey girl thank you so much :) honestly, I have no idea on basic sewing. I only try out by first drawing what I want to sew and cut it out how I think it should be, then I just start sewing them together. There are videos on youtube that also gives tutorial on how to go about it. loves
